Aki Anastasiou from Radio 702 will deliver the welcoming address, but expect something very different from the usual boring speeches at these conferences. You really don't want to be late!

Shameel Joosub, Vodacom CEO

Shameel will discuss Vodacom's broadband network, their LTE plans and what needs to be done to boost broadband in South Africa. Shameel will also touch on smartphone and tablet PCs.

Rudi Jansen, former MWEB CEO

Rudi is the man behind the uncapped broadband revolution in South Africa, and he will share his thoughts about the South African ADSL and broadband market, and what can be done to boost services in the country.


10:10 - 10:35

Jose Dos Santos, Cell C Chief Commercial Officer

Cell C shook up the South African mobile market with very aggresive prepaid, contract and broadband products. Jose will tell us about this journey and what we can expect from Cell C in future.

Broadband Panel: FTTH, VDSL, ADSL, HSPA+, LTE and broadband bottlenecks

MyBroadband editor Rudolph Muller will chair the panel discussion which will focus on broadband in South Africa, ADSL, broadband products from ISPs with a bit of Local Loop Unbundling and Wireless broadband technologies thrown in.


Telkom Managing Executive Steve Lewis will tell us more about Telkom’s ADSL plans, their speed upgrades, Metro-Net growth and share his views on fibre to the home.


Vox Telecom CEO Douglas Reed will share his views on ADSL, ADSL Bonding technologies, local bandwidth developments and Local Loop Unbundling.  Also expect an exciting announcement from Douglas at the event.


Vodacom's Jannie van Zyl has excellent knowledge of broadband technologies, and will share his views on LTE, mobile broadband and more.

8ta has stunned the South African mobile broadband market this year with prices never before seen in the country. Amith will shed some light on the company's plans in the broadband market and tell us more about what to expect from them in future.

John Holdsworth, AppChat CEO

AppChat is planning to shake up the South African mobile voice market with low cost and innovative voice over data services. John will tell us more about these plans, and what should be done to drive down prices further in South Africa.

Afrihost CEO Gian Visser will shed some light on ADSL from an ISP's perspective, and share his views on how South Africa should move forward when it comes to broadband.


Neotel CTO Angus Hay will tell us more about national bandwidth bottlenecks, the newly launched WACS cable and Neotel's network growth.


DFA CEO Gustav Smit will share his thoughts on national fibre networks and what should be done to make FTTH happen in South Africa.


Broadband Infraco CEO Puleng Sejanamane will tell us more about Broadband Infraco's plans to boost bandwidth and drive down prices
